CLINICAL EXPERIENCE:

JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY :

I have focussed on joint replacements since post graduation days and even my dissertation was on one aspect of joint replacement.I picked up finer points over the years by observing and assisting various national and international surgeons of repute. Specialisation in the field started happening since the time I visited Singapore General Hospital under Dr. Lo N N, an eminent surgeon well versed in primary and difficult revision surgeries. I gained very useful initial experience in various complicated and difficult Primary and Revision knee surgeries.

Refinement and nuances of revision, complex primary situations happened with advanced fellowship and training in joint replacement at Puettlingen hospital in Germany under Dr.Thomas Siebel, an eminent joint replacement and designer surgeon.

Over the years attendance in national and international meets on joint replacement surgery became a habit to pick up whatever I could to enhance my knowledge on the subject. In India I started my practice by associating with Dr. Harbhajan Singh, a senior Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in complicated surgeries. I learnt the techniques to manage all kinds of cases including revisions. Under him came the vision to look differently at each case to separate oneself from the pack. From being someone to being the one .He taught me the Pre-operative as well as Post-Operative management for various types of patients.

I specialize in all types of Joint Replacement surgeries for Hip, Knee, Elbow and Shoulder with gratifying results in all these surgeries. I have to my credit now almost 500 joint replacement surgeries including both primary and revisions. Besides have assisted over 1000 joint replacement surgeries with various surgeons.

I was the Co-Organising Secretary for a one day symposium on Hip, NOVACON, April 2009, where I even performed a live surgery on uncemented total hip replacement as demonstration for the audience.

I organised the Basic Knee Arthroplasty Workshop at India Habitat Centre under DOACON 2011.
