Rajeev Sood is an eminent Surgeon, associated with the Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital in New Delhi. As a devoted physician, Dr. Sood has undergone several trainings, including an Advanced Course in Surgery from AFMC in Pune, Clinical Tutor Surgery from the Armed Forces Medical College, also in Pune, Surgery Training from the Pune University, Urology Training from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, ESWL Training from the Henri Mondor Hospital in Paris, Training in Cryo Surgery from the University Hospital in Virginia, USA, Training in Brachytherapy Andrology from the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA and Training in Green Light Laser Prostate Surgery from the Kings Hospital in London. Dr. Sood has worked with many other reputed institutions, including the Command Hospital in Lucknow, Army Hospital (R&R) in New Delhi, Max Healthcare in New Delhi, Nova Health Care Hospital, Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, and the Army Hospital in Delhi Cantt. He has the credit of performing the first Cadaver Transplant and the first Laparoscopic Live Donor Nephrectomy in the Armed Forces. He played a pivotal role in the Laser Prostatectomy Program in India and started the Holmium Enucleation Prostate (HOLEP) in the year 1999. Bestowed with the Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India for performance beyond the call of duty, he was the first to launch the High Energy Green Light Laser Prostatectomy Program in the country. Dr. Sood has attended many seminars & conferences and has penned down several chapters for textbooks. His significant chapters include “Benign Prostatic Hyperplasic and its Management – Text of Geriatrics & Gerontology (2nd edition in 2004 by ANB Publishers), “Looking at Surgery in a New Light – Laser Surgery for Benign Prostatic Disease” (Journal Max Healthcare in 2009), and many more. His important paper presentations include “Holmium Laser Enucleation Prostate: In more than 100gm Prostate” presented at the Asian Urology Conference in Malaysia, in the year 2002, and “High Power KTP Laser Prostatectomy: The Technique and its Application in Cases unfit for TURP” presented at the 22nd World Congress of Endo-urology in New Delhi in 2005. Dr. Sood is often invited as a faculty and lecturer at various seminars & conferences. He was a Surgical Faculty at the PERCON Operative Workshop of the Lions Hospital in New Delhi in 2007 & again in 2011, and was the Guest Lecturer at the Expanse Urology – Green Light Laser Vapo-incision Prostate held in Malaysia in the year 2008 & in Hong Kong in 2011, and many other conferences.
